We're Hiring!
Kwohtations is looking for a part-time production and fulfillment assistant to help out at our studio located at 67 West St. in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
About Kwohtations
Kwohtations is a Brooklyn, NY-based line of inclusive greeting cards and gifts that reflect a diversity of identities and life experiences, and always with empathy and humor. Kwohtations is all about:
- Creating with vulnerability: Kwohtations products are inspired by life experiences that many of us go through, e.g. navigating grief & loss, embracing chosen families, and celebrating non-traditional life milestones.
- Representing the diversity in our communities: As an Asian- and woman-owned business, Kwohtations offers a wide variety of card options that reflect different skin colors, genders, sexual orientations, and life experiences.
- Making goods with intention (and elbow grease): Every card is letterpress printed one at a time on an antique printing press in Brooklyn, NY.
- Healing through humor: Humor is critical to savoring the good times and surviving the hard. My hope is that Kwohtations products elicit a smile (or laugh!) of recognition, and help others feel more seen.

Other:

You’d be great for this job if you are:
- Extremely detail-oriented: You’re the kind of person who notices if a card is facing the wrong direction or if there are 5 items packed instead of 6. Whether it’s packaging individual products or packing boxes, you work thoughtfully and carefully.
- A checklist lover: You enjoy following a clear, detailed checklist and double-checking everything along the way.
- Good with your hands and enjoy repetitive tasks: You work quickly and efficiently when handling manual tasks. You find putting on a podcast or audiobook and doing repetitive hand tasks both relaxing and satisfying.
- Reliable: You respond to texts promptly and show up when you say you will!
- Self-directed: You’re a fast learner who can work independently but is also comfortable asking questions when needed.
- Able to handle light lifting: You’re willing and able to carry boxes and packages down stairs and to the post office, using a hand-pulled wagon and large Ikea bags if necessary.
- Comfortable in a shared workspace: The studio is functional but not glamorous! It’s in an old warehouse with other artist studios, and I share the space with two other artists.
- Flexible and adaptable: You’re okay with (or even excited about) figuring things out as we go! There will be a learning curve as we find what works best.
- Fully vaccinated and willing to wear a mask indoors if needed.
You must meet productivity benchmarks for sleeving, such as sleeving 200-250 greeting cards per hour (after some practice). This includes doing quality control, folding cards, pairing them with envelopes, and packaging them in clear sleeves.
You must accurately pull and pack the correct items for each order—wholesale and retail. There should rarely be missing or incorrect items in the completed orders.
Bonus Points:
- You are a fan of stationery and/or interested in the behind-the-scenes of running a small product-based businesses.
- You have prior experience packaging products and fulfilling orders.
