Today is the Welcome to the Grief Club Pub Day (publishing day), which means it is officially out on bookshelves wherever books are sold! This is an illustrated book for anyone who has lost a loved one, or who wants to better support someone who is grieving.
Today is also Lunar New Years Day. Last night, as is tradition for Chinese New Year, we folded paper gold ingots and burned them for our ancestors, and for all those who came and passed before us. It seems fitting that this book comes out during this special time of both remembrance and new beginnings.
I am excited for this piece of my heart to finally be out in the world, after working on it so intensely for the last couple years. I also feel very bittersweet about this book existing in the world, because it's such a tangible reminder that Nap is gone. Writing it helped me feel less lonely in my grief, and my hope is that anyone who reads it will feel a bit less alone in theirs.
Thank you so much for being here, for listening, for bearing witness, for cheering on, and for being my community.
